Synopsis
For Chris it is easier not to face the real world but to be the centre of someone else's universe, no matter how twisted that may be. He knows this and it torments him in his acquiescence to Samantha. Once day turns to night however a bargain is struck between the two that leads to the unexpected for both of them. Stephanie Bates' 'Dispretty' tracks the complications of desire, sex, and potentially love, for a disabled man, and his carer, as their relationship, nudging forward in little instances of power and control, moves towards confrontation.

Confronting and very
real. A very interesting
short film.
This film would be
cool made into a feature.
I wanted to see more of
the characters and didn't
want to leave them. Great
film man. Not too many
like it made in this
country.
whoa! riveting and
disgusting all at the
same time. gritty and
well acted.impressive
not pretty and not
pleasant but something
about this film makes me
think about it long after
its final credits have
rolled....I can't wait
for the next Bates Motel
production!!
This film is
provocative, confronting
and at times like a car
crash, difficult to watch
but impossible to look
away. The actors are
fantastic, multilayered
and scary. They both gave
brave performances and
neither roll was easy. It
would have been a
disaster in the hands of
lesser actors. The
direction and
cinematography are also
first class.
