"N for Nelly please John." Triumph, glory and a few bitter pills. In 1985, Australia first heard the phrase that would revolutionise game show history. This is how it happened.
Filmed in Melbourne, this film takes a tongue-in-cheek look at game show culture in Australia, and features an appearance from "Baby" John Burgess himself.
Director Katrina Mathers' credits include the Tropfest Finalist short film The Referees, and the highly acclaimed short feature mockumentary Crazy Richard (co-director), as well as several other shorts. Katrinas background includes working for ABC TV in the comedy and entertainment departments on shows such as The Late Show.
Katrina is also a comic writer/performer. She was a Moosehead Award Recipient for Footy Chicks at the 2003 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and one of the writer/performers for the ABC TV sketch comedy series Flipside. She has played key roles in a host of other productions, including the lead in a Channel 7 telemovie Economy Class and other independent films, TV guest roles etc. Currently she is performing the role of Sandra Sultry among other regular characters in the Channel 10 sketch series The Wedge.
