Brief
Strange Things make for strange times indeed for Vertigo Jones - from the skies to the seas, the trans-atlantic Brit-pop outfit takes a yellow submarine style odyssey, with (presumably) more drugs, and better animation. Like something out of a malevolent child's picturebook, Power's clip comes on in a burst of colour, from its fabled-monsterisms to y'know, giant hands in the sky and stuff. Pure fantasy and folly, Strange Things is, despite the cliche it may tend towards, a literal pleasure to watch.
Eric Power is a Portable Film Festival alumni of 2008, and has created a variety of painstakingly animated and music video works across graphic, origami, ink drawing, cutout and intricate string stop motions. Power owns and operates Clear Productions in Austin, Texas.
