without being too
specific, and although
the film is open to
interpretation, the young
man and the old man are
actually the same person
- if that makes any
sense.

'Leftovers' is a well shot, well lit and moving little short that documents an apartment occupied by two men who survive from the leftover meals of a generous neighbor.
The two men (one young, the other old) follow each other around the apartment from combing their hair, watching television, cleaning and playing cards. Although they don't speak to each other there is a tone of comfort especially from the elder resident in that he doesn't live alone.
However at the delivery of a night's meal by a kind heart, the audience realizes the make up of the house is not exactly how it is seen through the eyes of Roland, the older man. The careful lighting of this short paint a delicate picture of solitude, that documents the solitude of those who live within the apartment.
