Synopsis

Caught in a Loop explores the impulse towards repetitive acts through a focus on a handful of individuals. A series of black and white vignettes reveal their private actions and behaviours accompanied by confessional insights into the driving forces at work. One person's comforting routine is another's compulsion to ritualise. What you see is a series of acts of true pleasure and predicaments. Actors lip-sync to the real-life descriptions of others who thereby preserve their anonymity.

Winner of Sony Tropfest 2008. Best Screenplay prize; Best Experimental Film, South Australian Short Screen Awards 2008.
