Synopsis
Getting up in the zero gravity sans bananas, 'Monkeynaut' reimagines an Apollo 13 style space-going claymation tragedy through the eyes of 1950s aeronautical chimps.
'Monkeynaut������¢' was inspired by Gordo (also known, curiously, as "Old Reliable"), the first monkey to be launched into sub-orbital space, on December 13th, 1958, whose mission was considered a success by NASA despite the squirrel monkey's demise on re-entry due to a faulty parachute.
Director Susie Jones works for Mr & Ms Smith, and has contributed to high profile tv work for Disney and E4. She recently provided stop motion animation on the music video for Babyshambles������¢���¯���¿���½���¯���¿���½ French Dog Blues. Monkeynaut was an official selection of LA Shorts Fest, the largest short film festival in the world.
